A meeting was held to establish the Asian Society for Pigment Cell Research (ASPCR), in Beijing , China. This historic meeting was held at the Beijing International Convention Centre on 21st May 2004 during the International Congress of Dermatology, and the Asian Society for Pigment Cell Research (ASPCR) was founded.
Many members representing several countries actively participated in this meeting. The interest shown by the participants was very encouraging.
Dr Prasad Kumarasinghe was elected as the President and Dr Davinder Parsad was elected as the Secretary General. Prof Bhushan Kumar (of Chandigarh, India) was nominated as the Scientific Chairperson for the First Academic Meeting of the ASPCR, to be held in India.
Several Council positions (from China, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Iraq) were filled.
